In this paper a conceptual design is presented for a dynamic distributed holographic sensor for measuring the surface distortion of large segmented reflectors. The application is active control of large spaceborne telescopes. The sensor is based on holographic contouring with a multiple frequency source. Photorefractive crystals are used as the holographic recording media. Performance characteristics based on analysis of thick film holographic recording in photorefractive media and sensing requirements for large reflectors will be presented.
