The DRIVE Project V1006, DRIVAGE: 'Factors in Elderly People's Driving Abilities', is made up of contributions from three partners; the Department of Geography of King's College, London University, the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, also from Kings College, London University, and the Traffic Research Centre from the University of Groningen in Holland. The work described used a semi-realistic driving simulator (SRS) based on a video disc, to look at the ways that novel devices (RTI or road transport innovations) might assist older drivers. It also gathered evidence on the limitations as to the use that older drivers might make of extra information provided.
