This paper describes the hardware and software architecture of the Theater Missile Tracker (TMT), the TMT is a high bandwidth (3 k frame/sec), narrow field of view tracker developed to evaluate track algorithms for the purpose of tracking through long atmospheric paths. The TMT incorporates a suite of centroid and correlation track algorithms each with minor modifications for an intended improvement over the basic algorithm. The TMT uses a focal plane array with a 64*64 pixel format for image sensing. An integration of 15 Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) components are the basic building blocks of the TMT. The TNT is a excellent example of how COTS can meet high performance requirements without specialized design. This paper will focus on the features and capabilities of the TMT. These are presented within the TMT's functional breakout of its graphical user interface, sensor interface, image storage/simulator, real-time/post data analysis capability, and real-time execution of its 8 algorithms.
