The traffic organization characteristics with raising the speed of some passenger trains on busy railway main line are analyzed in the paper. The paper also discusses the running plans and influences of speed-raise trains on traffic capacity. As there is no standard deducted coefficient of the traffic capacity for the speed-raise trains, the paper establishes the simulation model for traffic organization of speed-raise trains by means of system simulation for the first time. After tested and adjusted on microcomputer, the simulation software was passed appraisal. Taking Shanghai-Nanjing line as example, the quantitative indexes of the traffic capacity and the speed-raise plans in phases are obtained through the computer simulation.
