July 1929 n 7 p 327-328: Discussion of simplest form of trolley automatic haulage; introduction of automatic underground haulage will require that roadway be maintained in good operating condition throughout; roof must be properly supported and timbering well maintained; track must be of proper sized rails with good road-bed; no special demands are to be met that would not otherwise be required and as consideration is limited to main haul, it is inferred that entry and track correspond to standard practice for existing service; details are outlined. Aug 1929 n 8 p 379-380: Secondary haulage by electric locomotive involves problems not present with main line hauls, but it is here that greatest savings will be realized.
