Sagged simple catenary equipment; effects of variations in sag, tension and dropper spacing on performance of dynamically-scaled model overhead equipment have been determined from results of over 600 test runs; limiting speed of simple equipment under optimized conditions has been found to be 115 mph when used with standard British Rail pantograph.
