The invention discloses a stair climbing robot. The robot comprises a robot body, multiple movement wheels and a transmission mechanism, the robot body comprises multiple carriage wheels, the movement wheels comprise sun wheels and multiple planet wheels, the transmission mechanism comprises multiple motors, the multiple motors are electrically connected with and drive one planet wheel of the multiple movement wheels, the multiple planet wheels are connected with the sun wheels through planet carries respectively, and the multiple planet wheels are connected with and drive the multiple carriage wheels through gears respectively. Through the mode, the stair climbing robot has the advantages that the structure is novel, sensors are not needed, the planar fast movement is achieved, the robot steps over obstacles automatically, the control is sensitive, the movement is flexible, the power is great, convenience and practicability are achieved, and the wide market prospect in popularization of stair climbing robots is achieved.
