The invention relates to a suspension system with electrically adjustable rigidness for a caterpillar track type mobile robot. The suspension system comprises a plurality of suspending brackets, a positioning plate, a plurality of supporting wheels, and a caterpillar track, wherein the positioning plate is mounted on the lateral side of the caterpillar track; the supporting wheels are mounted at the top of the inner side of the caterpillar track; the suspending brackets are mounted on the inner side of the caterpillar track. The suspension system is adjustable in rigidness, and the rigidness of the suspension system can be electrically adjusted according to a specified terrain on which the robot executes tasks; the electric adjustment adopted in the suspension system is higher in accuracy compared with manual adjustment, and the motion performance of the robot is greatly improved. According to the suspension system, the position of each sliding block on a C-shaped limb can be changed by controlling a direct-current motor, namely the rigidness of the corresponding suspending brackets can be changed; the suspension system is easy and convenient to adjust and control, and high in operability.
