An emergency release mechanism used in a disc brake as an electric brake device is provided with: a spring clutch which is disposed between a main shaft and a torque transmission member and which rotates the torque transmission member together with the main shaft until the rotational resistance with respect to the main shaft exceeds a prescribed value; a fixed member configured so as not to rotate; and a torsion spring, one end of which is connected to the torque transmission member and the other end of which is connected to the fixed member, and which accumulates elastic energy by rotating the torque transmission member relative to the fixed member in accordance with the rotation of the main shaft. As a result, it is possible to suppress a decrease in designability in a disc brake.
