The cavity (30) is designed as a cooling channel (32) having a first end (40) associated with the vehicle interior (20) and a second end (42) associated with the vehicle exterior (22). The vehicle charging stand (16) comprises a fan (44) associated with the cooling channel (32), which fan is designed to draw in air from the vehicle interior (20) via a first end (40) of the cooling channel (32) and to discharge the air via a second end (42) of the cooling channel (32) in order to cool the direct current charging contact (38).
