The hoisting mechanism further comprises an encoder, a band-type brake device and a hoisting motor. The control method comprises the following steps: judging whether a load hook sliding fault occurs or not according to a pulse count value fed back by the encoder; if the load hook sliding fault occurs, self-starting is carried out to drive the lifting motor to brake the load and drive the lifting motor to control the load to be lowered; when the load is controlled to be lowered, whether the load is landed or not is judged; and if the load is landed, controlling the band-type brake device to carry out band-type brake and stop. According to the frequency converter of the hoisting mechanism and the control method of the frequency converter, intervention of an operator is not needed after hook slipping of the load is recognized, braking is actively output, the load is controllably and safely lowered, and the frequency converter is automatically stopped when landing is detected; the safety risk after load hook slipping is reduced, and secondary accidents caused by improper operation due to human factors after load hook slipping are effectively avoided.
