Proposed are an apparatus for and a method of controlling vehicular braking. The apparatus includes an in-wheel motor installed in a wheel and enabling the wheel to operate rotationally, an electro-mechanical brake installed in the wheel and configured to perform braking, a vehicular speed sensor configured to measure a speed of a vehicle, and a processor configured to compute required braking force in response to a signal applied from a brake pedal, to control the braking by distributing the required braking force to the electro-mechanical brake and the in-wheel motor, and to determine a braking state according to the speed of the vehicle and recompute braking torque for the in-wheel motor, thereby controlling the in-wheel motor in such a manner to bring the vehicle to a stop, in a case where the electro-mechanical brake fails to operate.
