A vehicle manoeuvring device 100 includes a skate 120 that is slidable along an elongate rail 140 that is fixed to a floor surface. The skate 120 is configured to support a wheel of a vehicle 200, and movement 50 of the skate 120 along the rail 140 between an initial position and a stowed position enables movement of the vehicle 200 between those positions. The device preferably includes a locking mechanism, such as a pedal 162a configured to secure the skate 120 relative to the rail 140 in the initial position and/or the stowed position. Thus, the skate 120 can be held stationary during loading or unloading of the vehicle 200 onto the skate 120 in the initial position, or during stowage of the vehicle 200 in the stowed position. The device is particularly suited to motorcycle storage and may be installed in a building.
