PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tread shape measurement method with which optical axes of a plurality of laser displacement gauges can be adjusted easily and accurately to improve measurement accuracy.SOLUTION: There is provided a tread shape measurement method to measure a tread surface shape of a tire using a plurality of laser displacement gauges arranged in a way having intervals in a tire axial direction. The tread shape measurement method includes: a calibration step S1 of calibrating each laser displacement gauge; a measurement step S2 of measuring a distance from each laser displacement gauge calibrated in the calibration step S1 to a tread surface in a tire radial direction; and a calculation step S3 of calculating, based on the distance measured by the measurement step S2, a tread surface shape. The calibration step S1 includes an optical axis adjustment step of adjusting an optical axis of each laser displacement gauge in a manner that the axes are in parallel with each other in a plain surface including a tire axis and vertical to the tire axis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
