The measurement step is configured to measure distance data Lx in an X-axis direction from first and second laser displacement meters 31 and 32 to surfaces of respective tread parts 101 as revolving a tire 100 around a Y-axis. The calculation step is configured to synthesize first distance data Lxwith second distance data Lxto obtain data representing a surface shape. The first and second laser displacement meters 31 and 32 are configured to direct an axial line of each laser light K in parallel with the X-axis, and are located, on a reference surface S orthogonal to the Y-axis, apart with equal distances La on either side of the X-axis and apart with an equal distance Lb in the X-axis direction from the Z-axis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
