PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar device and a target detection method with which it is possible to improve the accuracy of detecting a pedestrian.SOLUTION: A radar device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a detection unit, a filter processing unit, a speed acquisition unit and a boundary change unit. The detection unit performs a detection process of successively detecting a target in sequence of time that is approaching the own vehicle. The filter processing unit performs a filter process of finding a weighted average of the latest processing result and a previous processing result of the detection process and derives the position of the target detected by the latest detection process. The speed acquisition unit acquires a travel speed of the own vehicle. The boundary change unit determines, on the basis of the travel speed acquired by the speed acquisition unit, a boundary between a first area ahead of the own vehicle where a first filter process is performed in which the weight of the previous processing result is heavier than the latest processing result and a second area, outside of the first area, where a second filter process is performed in which the weight of the previous processing result is light as compared with the first filter process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】歩行者の検知精度を向上させることができるレーダ装置および物標検知方法を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態に係るレーダ装置は、検知部と、フィルタ処理部と、速度取得部と、境界変更部とを備える。検知部は、自車両に接近する物標を時系列に順次検知する検知処理を行う。フィルタ処理部は、検知処理の今回の処理結果および前回の処理結果を加重平均するフィルタ処理を行って、今回の検知処理で検知された物標の位置を導出する。速度取得部は、自車両の走行速度を取得する。境界変更部は、今回の処理結果よりも前回の処理結果の重みが重い第1のフィルタ処理が行われる自車両前方の第1エリアと、第1エリア外で第1のフィルタ処理に比べて前回の処理結果の重みが軽い第2のフィルタ処理が行われる第2エリアとの境界を速度取得部によって取得される走行速度に基づいて決定する。【選択図】図1
