The Definitional Mission was conducted to assess the pre-feasibility of port development and rehabilitation in the Polish Port of Szczecin and the potential for Free Trade Zone development at the Port. The Port of Szczecin managers outlined four major development projects proposed for the Port. These projects are: Multi-purpose general cargo facility, Iron ore import terminal, Phosphate import terminal, and Coal terminal expansion. After analysis of each of these projects, the multi-purpose container facility appears to be the only project that should be subject to further pre-feasibility analysis. Each of the other projects does not appear economically justified at the present.
