Past and present manufacturing practices in the electronics industry are reviewed. Interface relations of diversified industries are examined, and their effect on electronic manufacturing practices pursued. Also evaluated are future mechanization trends in relation to increasing requirements for more sophisticated systems; the impact of the computer-man-machine relationship on future trends in mechanization; and concepts of automatic production systems and their impact on the electronics manufacturing industry.
