Results of tests made to determine effect of A.S.T.M. 50-per cent point on acceleration and on most economical fuel volatility from standpoint of acceleration; objective was quantity of each of four special fuels that would give same acceleration as United States Motor gasoline at air-fuel ratio of 11.5 to 1; operating conditions chosen to give maximum differences between fuels used; data on relative fuel-flows and approximate estimates of relative yields from some average crudes.
