Air Force's newest tunnel under construction at Tullahoma, Tenn, at Arnold Engineering Development Center; it will be used primarily to investigate internal and external aerodynamic characteristics of full size jet engines, and for aerodynamic testing of airframes and guided missiles; common 216,000-hp drive is located between two separate closed loop circuits, transonic and supersonic.
