Air launch flasks are pressure vessels, used to supply compressed air needed to launch missiles from submarines; development and application of ultrasonic tests, designed to determine integrity of flasks; experimental work which formed basis for design of tests ultimately used for in-service flask testing; summary of test data obtained aboard 4 submarines; supplementary destructive test program which substantiated reliability of flask containing most questionable ultrasonic indication.
