The bottom end of the brake wedge block is fixedly connected with an adsorption rod, the outer surface of the adsorption rod is sleeved with a spring, an electromagnet is fixedly installed on the bottom face in the brake shell, and the two sides in the brake shell are rotationally connected with cover plates. In a normal state, gaps are kept between the brake wedge blocks and the elevator guide rail, operation of an elevator car is not affected, once an elevator breaks down and is powered off, the electromagnet does not attract the attraction rod any more, the spring can abut against the brake wedge blocks to enable the brake wedge blocks to ascend, and the two brake wedge blocks are close to each other and abut against the outer surface of the elevator guide rail. Therefore, the elevator car is buffered and gradually stops falling due to the fact that large frictional resistance can be generated immediately.
