The invention provides a power assembly with a differential protection function, a motor controller control method and an electric vehicle, relates to the field of new energy vehicles, and can be applied to pure electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles. The power assembly comprises a driving motor, a motor controller and a differential mechanism, the driving motor is used for being in transmission connection with the differential mechanism, the differential mechanism is used for being in transmission connection with two wheels of the electric automobile, the two wheels are two front wheels or two rear wheels, and the motor controller is used for controlling the torque value output by the driving motor to be smaller than or equal to the torque limit value. And the torque limit value is reduced along with the increase of the wheel speed difference of the two wheels. According to the scheme, the differential mechanism is protected through the motor controller according to the hardware capacity and the working boundary of the differential mechanism, the reliability of a power assembly is improved, and the safety of the whole vehicle is improved.
