The present invention obtains a confluence assistance device capable of more appropriately assisting confluence of vehicles. A confluence assistance device according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a reception unit capable of receiving a first request signal including confluence point information relating to the position of a confluence point at which a first vehicle is scheduled to confluence; a processing unit capable of determining, on the basis of the merging point information included in the first request signal, whether or not the speed of the host vehicle can be set to a predetermined speed or less before the host vehicle arrives at the merging point; and a transmission unit that, when the processing unit determines that the speed of the host vehicle cannot be equal to or less than the predetermined speed, can transmit a second request signal including the merging point information included in the first request signal to a second vehicle traveling behind the host vehicle.
