The invention relates to a steering system (1) for a motor vehicle (2), having a user interface (3) for entering a driver-request trajectory (F) for parking the motor vehicle (2), a steering actuator (4) for setting a steering angle of the wheels (5) of the motor vehicle (2), a detection device (6) for detecting surroundings (U) of the motor vehicle (2) and a control device (7) for determining a target trajectory (S) of the motor-vehicle (2) for parking depending on the driver-request trajectory (F) and the detected surroundings (U) and for controlling the steering actuator (4). The control device (7) is designed to determine a variation between the driver-request trajectory (F) and the target trajectory (S), to provide a deviation trajectory (A) on the basis of the deviation and the driver-request trajectory (F) and/or the target trajectory (S), and to control the steering actuator (4) with the deviation trajectory (A). The invention also relates to a motor vehicle (2) and a method for parking.
