PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle charging cable assembly to control heat through a temperature sensor when overcurrent flows in a plug and thus heat beyond an allowable value is generated from the plug.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle charging apparatus includes a plug inserted into a socket for supplying electrical energy to an electric vehicle; and a control unit to determine the presence or absence of overheating of the plug and, on the basis of a result of the determination, execute an overheating prevention algorithm.
