PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a main electric motor of a railway vehicle.SOLUTION: A bearing 86 for a main electric motor which rotatably supports a spindle 20 of the main electric motor of a railway vehicle around an axis comprises an outer ring 86a, an inner ring 86b, a plurality of rolling bodies 86c and a cage. The outer ring 86a has an outer ring rolling face at an internal peripheral face. The inner ring 86b has an inner ring rolling face at an external peripheral face, and is arranged inside the outer ring 86a so that the inner ring rolling face opposes the outer ring rolling face. A plurality of the rolling bodies 86c contact with the outer ring rolling face and the inner ring rolling face, and are aligned on an annular raceway. The cage holds the rolling bodies 86c. The outer ring 86a has a surface which continues to the internal peripheral face, and includes protrusions 86d, 86e which protrude to a direction along the axis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
