PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow melting type LED traffic signal capable of quickly and reliably preventing snow accretion, ice accretion, adhesion of frost, freezing or the like to obtain excellent visibility.SOLUTION: A snow melting type LED traffic signal to which an LED light instrument is adopted as a signal light instrument, enables infrared rays to exist in illumination light from a light emitting surface of the LED light instrument. Infrared LEDs for heat generation are arranged in the light emitting surface of the LED light instrument, or an infrared LED light emitting unit for heat generation other than the light emitting surface is mounted in the light instrument. The infrared rays existing in the illumination light heat infrared absorbers arranged in a lens cover of the traffic signal and/or in the signal light instrument, or directly heat ice, so as to melt snow. The wavelength of the infrared LEDs is 900-1500 nm, and the light emission current is 7.4 mA or more (desirably 11.4 mA or more).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】 着雪や着氷、および霜の付着、凍結などを迅速かつ確実に抑止し、良好な視認性を得ることのできる融雪型LED交通信号機を提供すること。【解決手段】 信号灯器としてLED灯器が採用されているLED交通信号機において、LED灯器の発光面からの照明光に赤外線を混在させたことを特徴とする、融雪型のLED交通信号機。LED灯器の発光面の中に発熱用赤外線LEDを配置して、または発光面とは別に発熱用赤外線LED発光ユニットを灯器内に取り付けて行う。照明光に混在させた赤外線により、信号機のレンズカバーおよび/または信号灯器の内部に配置した赤外線吸収体を発熱させる、または、直接氷を加熱することにより融雪する。赤外線LEDの波長は900〜1500nm、発光電流は7.4mA以上、望ましくは11.4mA以上である。【選択図】 図1
