PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling effect of a bearing unit including multiple bearings.SOLUTION: A bearing unit 4 includes multiple bearings 11, 12. The bearing unit 4 cools the multiple bearings 11, 12 by an ambient fluid that has a cryogenic temperature passing through interior parts of the multiple bearings 11, 12. The multiple bearings 11, 12 include: a first bearing 11 disposed at the upstream side in an ambient fluid flow direction; and a second bearing 12 disposed at the downstream side of the first bearing 11. The second bearing 12 includes a bypass passage 19 in which a gas contained in the ambient fluid passes while bypassing the interior part of the second bearing 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
