To manufacture a winding body which can avoid the damage of other components or the like caused by a terminal end part of a metal wire rod by shortening a distance from a weld part to a terminal end edge as much as possible without increasing the number of manufacturing steps, thereby preventing a defective winding body from being manufactured.SOLUTION: There is provided a porous winding body (filter 10) to which at least one continued metal wire rod 20 is spirally wound in a multi-layered state. In the winding body, a terminal end part 30 (metal wire rod portion 20n) of the metal wire rod is resistance spot-welded to the other portion (metal wire rod portion 20m) of the metal wire rod, and fused at the welded point. The terminal end part 30 (metal wire rod portion 20n) has a weld-solidified part 31n which is solidified after the metal wire rod in a width direction is entirely welded.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
