The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling charging of an electric vehicle in order to shorten time for rapid charging, in which charging currents are variably requested to a charger supplying charging currents in consideration of a used amount of currents of a load in the case of rapid charging of an electric vehicle, thereby preventing time for rapid charging from increasing due to use of a load. According to the present invention, the method for controlling charging of an electric vehicle in order to shorten time for rapid charging comprises the steps of: receiving a chargeable amount of currents from a battery control system when rapid charging occurs, and checking a used current amount of a high-voltage load; estimating information on the chargeable amount of currents based on the used charge amount checked of the load and the chargeable current amount; delivering information on the estimated chargeable current amount to the charger and transferring the charging currents supplied by the charger to a voltage distribution unit of the vehicle; and transferring the chargeable current amount requested by the battery control system from the transferred charging currents to the battery control system, and supplying the remaining currents to a high-voltage load current.

    전기차의 급속 충전 시 부하의 사용 전류량을 고려하여 충전 전류를 공급하는 충전기에 충전 전류를 가변적으로 요청함으로써 부하 사용에 의해 급속 충전시간이 증가하는 것을 방지하도록 한 전기차의 급속 충전시간 단축을 위한 충전 제어장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 급속 충전이 발생하면, 배터리 관리 시스템으로부터 충전 가능 전류량을 전달받고, 고전압 부하의 전류 사용량을 확인하는 단계, 확인한 부하의 전류 사용량과 충전가능 전류량을 기초로 충전가능 전류량 정보를 산출하는 단계, 산출한 충전가능 전류량 정보를 충전기에 전달하고, 충전기에서 공급되는 충전 전류를 차량 전압분배 유닛에 전달하는 단계, 전달되는 충전 전류에서 배터리 관리 시스템에서 요구하는 충전가능 전류량을 배터리 관리 시스템으로 전달하고, 나머지 전류를 고전압 부하 전류로 공급하는 단계를 포함하여, 전기차의 급속 충전시간 단축을 위한 충전 제어방법을 구현한다.
