본 발명의 자동제동 시스템은 제1 전방차량(2)의 제1 전방차량정보 및 제2 전방차량(3)의 제2 전방차량정보를 출력하는 전방 레이더 센서(110); 후방차량(4)의 후방차량정보를 출력하는 후방 레이더 센서(120); 자차(1)의 차량속도를 출력하는 차속센서(130); 및 상기 제1, 2 전방차량정보, 상기 후방차량정보, 및 상기 차량속도를 기반으로, 기설정된 기준연쇄충돌경보시점 및 기준연쇄충돌제동시점을 가변하여 경보발생 및 제동을 제어하는 제어모듈(140)을 포함한다. 제1, 2 전방차량 사이의 충돌 가능 여부에 따라, 기설정된 기준연쇄충돌경보시점 및 기준연쇄충돌제동시점을 가변시켜 경보발생 및 제동을 수행한다.
The present invention provides a method for operating an automatic brake system comprising: a step of calculating a first collision risk degree between a first preceding vehicle driven in front of a vehicle and a second preceding vehicle driven in front of the first preceding vehicle; a step of calculating a second collision risk degree with respect to the first preceding vehicle; a step of calculating a third collision risk degree with respect to a following vehicle driven to approach in rear of the corresponding vehicle; a step of determining whether a collision is possible between the first preceding vehicle and the second preceding vehicle based on the first collision risk degree and a first reference collision risk degree; and a step of generating an alarm and performing braking by changing a chain collision alarming time and a chain collision braking time depending on the second collision risk degree and the third collision risk degree when possibility of a collision between the first preceding vehicle and the second preceding vehicle is determined. According to the present invention, a chain collision accident can be prevented from occurring on a highway road where a vehicle is driven at a high speed.
