According to the present invention, an automatic braking system includes: a front radar sensor (110) outputting first front vehicle information of a first front vehicle (2) and second front vehicle information of a second front vehicle (3); a rear radar sensor (120) outputting rear vehicle information of a rear vehicle (4); a vehicle speed sensor (130) outputting a vehicle speed of a host vehicle (1); and a control module (140) controlling warning issuance and braking by varying a preset reference chain collision warning time and reference chain collision braking time, based on the first and second front vehicle information, the rear vehicle information and the speed of the host vehicle. Depending on whether a collision between the first and second front vehicles is possible, the preset reference chain collision warning time and reference chain collision braking time are varied to perform warning issuance and braking. Therefore, the present invention is capable of preventing a chain collision accident on a highway.

    본 발명의 자동제동 시스템은 제1 전방차량(2)의 제1 전방차량정보 및 제2 전방차량(3)의 제2 전방차량정보를 출력하는 전방 레이더 센서(110); 후방차량(4)의 후방차량정보를 출력하는 후방 레이더 센서(120); 자차(1)의 차량속도를 출력하는 차속센서(130); 및 상기 제1, 2 전방차량정보, 상기 후방차량정보, 및 상기 차량속도를 기반으로, 기설정된 기준연쇄충돌경보시점 및 기준연쇄충돌제동시점을 가변하여 경보발생 및 제동을 제어하는 제어모듈(140)을 포함한다. 제1, 2 전방차량 사이의 충돌 가능 여부에 따라, 기설정된 기준연쇄충돌경보시점 및 기준연쇄충돌제동시점을 가변시켜 경보발생 및 제동을 수행한다.
