Electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are gaining ground in a variety of markets, including public transit and private automobiles. More and more research is being done on electric vehicles, charging stations, and the integration of these vehicles into a larger electric grid, as electric vehicles become more popular around the world and the use of these vehicles increases. Using renewable energy to power PEVs results in cleaner and greener modes of travel. In order to assist in the maintenance of a stable electrical grid, PEVs can provide vehicle-to-grid (V2G) ancillary services while being charged. Electric vehicles, varieties of EVs, and EV chargers were all examined in this study. Also discussed was the battery charging mechanism for EVs. Finally, the focus of this study is on the design and development of an EV battery charger based on a PV array and including a backup bank of batteries. EV battery charging in constant voltage mode is unaffected by PV array intermittency thanks to the Sepic converter and bidirectional interleaved dc-dc converter in this suggested system. The effectiveness of the suggested system is demonstrated through simulation studies and experimental examination.
