The robust control of adaptive cruise control (ACC) systems using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing is thoroughly examined in this research. Due to its potential to enhance driving comfort, boost traffic flow efficiency, and promote road safety, ACC systems have attracted a lot of interest. However, environmental variables, vehicle dynamics, and sensor readings can all have an impact on how well ACC systems operate. Robust control strategies have been thoroughly studied and applied in ACC systems to overcome these problems. Additionally, HIL testing has become a useful tool for verifying and optimizing control algorithms in a secure and realistic setting. In order to provide information on the most recent methodology and approaches utilized for robust control design and HIL testing of ACC systems, this study evaluates 15 pertinent research publications on the subject. These studies' contributions are examined, stressing their most important conclusions, methods, and experimental designs. The report concludes by pointing up areas for future research that might help the field of robust management of ACC systems via HIL testing development.
