Aiming at the altitude control problem of tandem twin rotor UAV, a PID controller based altitude control method is proposed in this paper. First of all, the dynamic and kinematic analysis of the UAV is conducted, and then a model is built in MATLAB/Simulink, and the parameters of the PID controller are optimized to achieve precise control of the UAV's altitude. The simulation results show that the proposed control method has high control accuracy and robustness, and can maintain stability even when facing external disturbances. This study provides a feasible PID control solution for altitude control of tandem twin-rotor UAV, which has certain practical application value.
