The veracity of a battery model and SOC estimation has a profound impact on the control strategy of a vehicle management system and electric vehicle performance, which is critical for efficient battery management and increasing vehicle reliability. The intent of this project is to extend battery longevity through cell balancing, which is instrumental in preserving battery life. This paper examines the merits and drawbacks of various SOC estimation techniques, as well as the principles, analysis of battery pack in MATLAB/ Simulink, implementation of Coulomb Counting Method and research progress of $\text{SoC}$ estimation algorithms and passive cell balancing, with the goal of providing references for future researchers.
