Under this project it is proposed to upgrade a 6.1 mile portion of existing State Route 22 in Westchester County to acceptable standards for inclusion into the Interstate System. It will then become a link in I-684. Twelve families are to be relocated. There is anticipated additional traffic volume on the existing facility which will result in increased noise levels and air pollution. These increases will be mitigated by the improvement of the facilities to six lanes and the elimination of at-grade crossings. The reduction in the capacity of the New York City reservoirs is minor and the effect is not considered detrimental.
