The report presents the results of Phase II of a program being undertaken by the City of Los Angeles through its Department of Airports to plan for a new high-speed ground access system between Los Angeles International Airport and the San Fernando Valley. The system under study would employ tracked air cushion vehicles powered by linear induction motors. Phase II of the program is an analysis and evaluation of the economic, financial, and marketing aspects of such a system. An in-depth analysis was made of ridership for the years 1973-1977. Ridership estimates were obtained by analyzing 35 separate zones within the market area. (Author)
