A multi-axle (four-wheel) steering system for trucks and other commercial vehicles is described. The benefits of multi-axle steering and several examples of existing approaches are discussed. This leads to a set of defined goals for the subject design. The resultant design is described on a component and operational basis. Test results are analyzed to judge system performance. Finally, a discussion of concerns related to reducing the prototype to a manufacturable system is made.
