With increase in transportation vehicle, personal as well as public transport vehicles, there is serious environmental pollution problems with large emissions of green-house gases. To reduce the green-house gas emissions, national policy is framed to switch over from conventional transport vehicles to electric vehicles in urban and sub-urban transportation system. The effect of charging of electric vehicles on the distribution network is investigated by modelling the electric vehicle load profile, considering the charging and discharging battery characteristics, electric vehicle battery type, capacity, daily driving distance, electric vehicle charging rate, efficiency, user behaviour and electricity tariff rate/schedule. In this paper, the impact of two major battery parameters on load distribution curve is investigated. The results are determined through MATLAB software.
