Abstract This paper studies a dynamic pricing problem for container slot allocation by considering port congestion. To solve the slot allocation with dynamic pricing issue, a one-phase allocation model is proposed to formulate this problem. And, a chance-constrained method is applied to define that the slots reserved for contract shippers can be efficiently used, namely the probability of the slots allocated to contract shippers exceed the actual demand is less than a given parameter.
