This paper presents structural concepts utilized and proposed for deep water applications (400 ft. to 1000 ft.) in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Concepts presented include tripods, lifted and launched jackets and main and skirt piled platforms. General analysis procedures for in-place platform design including dynamics and spectral fatigue are covered. Regulatory requirements and their effect on design and operation requirements are also discussed.
