To improve energy efficiency at the time of traveling of a crawler type traveling body.SOLUTION: A crawler type traveling body 10 includes: a rubber crawler 11; a driving wheel 13 for giving driving force to the crawler 11; two rolling wheels 15a and 15b arranged below the driving wheel 13; and a tensioner 25 for pressing the driving wheel 13 against the crawler 11 wound around the driving wheel 13 and the rolling wheels 15a and 15b and thereby giving tension to the crawler 11. At least the outer peripheral part in contact with the crawler 11 in wheels (circular plate members 152 and 153) used as the rolling wheels 15a and 15b is made of a resin.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
