A transport vehicle (1) is provided with: a fork (16); a dot matrix acquisition unit (22) that horizontally irradiates laser light to acquire a dot matrix (PG); and a distance determination unit that determines, on the basis of the acquired dot matrix (PG), the distance in the left-right direction between the cargo loaded on the fork (16) and an object adjacent to the cargo loading position. The dot matrix acquisition unit (22) is disposed at a position at which laser light can be irradiated to the cargo loaded on the fork (16) and the cargo loading position.
