Disclosed herein is an apparatus for controlling a four-wheel independent steering vehicle, the apparatus including: a sensor module; and a processor configured to, while parking using a CRAB mode of the four-wheel independent steering vehicle, determine whether to park the vehicle in consideration of at least one of an angle between the vehicle and the parking surface, a position and a shape of the parking surface, and a direction in which the vehicle enters the parking surface based on information detected by the sensor module. Parking is performed by selectively controlling the front wheel driving module and the rear wheel driving module.
