PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle collision avoidance support device that makes timing exact to warn a driver of a vehicle going to enter an intersection of the possibility of collision in order to prevent a head-on accident by obtaining information from another vehicle using inter-vehicle communication.SOLUTION: When there are many other vehicles RV around an intersection Int which a vehicle HV is going to enter, a driver of the vehicle HV has increased powers of attention forward including the intersection Int compared with when there are a fewer other vehicles RV, a vehicle collision avoidance support device gives notice such as notice of warning at notification timing later than reference notification timing (normal notification timing), and thereby prevents excess notification and prevents the driver from feeling bothersome.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15

    【課題】車車間通信を用いて他車両から情報を取得して、出会い頭事故を防止するために、交差点に進入しようとする自車両の運転者に対する衝突可能性の警報等の報知タイミングを的確にする車両用衝突回避支援装置を提供する。【解決手段】自車両HVが進入しようとする交差点Intの周囲に存在する他車両RVが多い場合は、他車両RVが少ない場合に比較して、交差点Intを含む前方に対する注意力が高まっているので、警報等の報知を基準報知タイミング(通常報知タイミング)より遅めの報知タイミングで報知することで、報知が過度になることを防止して前記運転者が感じる煩わしさを防止する。【選択図】図15
