PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress transition to electric traveling accompanied by erroneous retardation of ignition timing.SOLUTION: When abnormality occurs in output of an engine during hybrid traveling in which an automobile travels by using power from the engine and power from a motor, a hybrid automobile controls the engine and the motor so as to be transited to electric traveling in which the automobile travels by using only the power from the motor by stopping operation of the engine. During the hybrid traveling, when a retardation amount dθ from base ignition timing θb of ignition timing of the engine is not smaller than a prescribe amount, and an operation point which is defined from a rotation number of the engine and a load factor of the engine is within a prescribed range in which erroneous retardation of the ignition timing is liable to occur, the engine is controlled so that a throttle opening TH* of the engine reaches a prescribed opening or smaller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】点火時期の誤遅角に伴う電動走行への移行を抑制する。【解決手段】エンジンからの動力とモータからの動力とを用いて走行するハイブリッド走行中に、エンジンの出力に異常が生じたときには、エンジンの運転を停止してモータからの動力だけを用いて走行する電動走行へ移行するようにエンジンとモータとを制御するハイブリッド自動車であって、ハイブリッド走行中において、エンジンの点火時期の基本点火時期θbからの遅角量dθが所定量以上であり、且つ、エンジンの回転数とエンジンの負荷率とから定められる運転点が点火時期の誤遅角が発生しやすい所定領域内であるときには、エンジンのスロットル開度TH*が所定開度以下となるようにエンジンを制御する。【選択図】図3
